Types of Industrial Winches

There are two main types of winches that are commonly used for industrial purposes:

• Hand Winches – Featuring a hand crank which provides horsepower, hand winches use manual muscle power to operate. They can boast load capacities of up to 3.2 metric tonnes and don’t rely on a vehicle’s power system.
• Electric Winches – Available in various shapes and sizes, electric winches feature motors that supply electric power to the spool, which the cable is attached to. Typically they are capable of handling loads of up to 2 metric tonnes, although larger load capacities are available.
